YouTube Shorts is getting Google Lens integration!

Ana sayfa / News

Google announced that its visual search tool Google Lens has been integrated into YouTube Shorts videos. With the new feature, users will be able to search for objects or living things on the screen directly through Lens while watching Shorts videos.

The integration, which has started beta testing, will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. Thanks to this feature, which is accessed via the YouTube app, the screen can be paused during Shorts videos and the Google Lens icon that appears on the top menu can be tapped.

The user can search by highlighting an object they are curious about, touching it, or drawing a circle on the screen. The visual search experience works similarly to the “Circle to Search” feature offered by Google on Android devices.

Google Lens integration is only activated in Shorts videos that are not directly related to shopping, i.e., do not contain affiliate content. The usage process consists of the following steps: The Shorts tab at the bottom of the YouTube app is opened, the video is paused while playing, and then the Lens option on the top menu is clicked.

The user can start a search by marking any item on the screen. The “translate” option in the lower right corner of the screen is also activated for the subtitles in the video. Search results can be viewed by scrolling down.

Google announced that Lens usage in YouTube Shorts will be available to all users starting this week. So what do you think about this innovation? How many hours do you use YouTube in your daily life? You can easily share your views with us in the comments section below.
